Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the art of using essential oils derived from plant essence for the benefit of physical, psychological and emotion well-being. When essential oils are used correctly they have a profound effect on the body and mind. The most popular and common use of aromatherapy is through diffusers, for breathing in the essential oils and through massage therapy, where it is applied topically to the skin.

Having a massage with aromatherapy added to it, will enhance your experience by helping to promote relaxation and calm the nervous system as well as aid and support the body. Essential oils when applied topically (to the skin) will be absorbed into the bloodstream and muscle tissues. Through massage, blood circulation increases and the essential oils that are applied will be carried throughout the body and delivered to tissues and organs, while toxins and impurities will be eliminated from the body, such as lactic acid.

Typically, when aromatherapy is chosen there is a blend that is created. This means there are oils chosen that compliment and enhance the properties of each other and when combined are more beneficial than a single oil used on its own. However, a single oil is still very effective and may be recommended at times. The effects from an aromatherapy massage can vary depending on the oils used and can last up to 48 hours. The benefits are often immediate and many individuals find that they feel relaxed and calm for a few days. It is never wise to apply essential oils topically without diluting them into a carrier oil, as they are powerful and very concentrated. Carrier oils such as, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil and jojoba oil are a perfect compliment to essential oils and also add nourishing properties to the body.

Treat your senses to a luxurious massage experience that will leave your mind and body, relaxed and renewed.

You may choose whether you would like to have essential oils added to the diffuser in the room to enjoy the fragrance during your treatment or to help with issues such as headaches or nasal congestion, or have it added to the massage oil used in your treatment. You may choose your oil selection if you have a preference or a combination will be recommended and customized for you. For the ultimate aromatherapy experience have both the diffuser and essential oil infused massage oil incorporated into your treatment and let your senses be indulged.

You may add Aromatherapy to your Hot Stone and Massage Treatments for an additional $5.00. Please indicate when booking online in the note section that you would like to add Aromatherapy and you may also list your preference.
